important tourist attractions in the center of Naples.

_PALACE OF THE SPANISH

The Palace of the Spanish, in addition to being in an historically rich location, is itself a center of culture. Large spaces host elements belonging to the most diverse of artistic sectors: from music to literature and from pictorial to architectural art. This is space where you can live and breathe every form of inspiration.

The Palace of the Spanish, built in 1738 by Ferdinando Sanfelice for the Marquis Nicola Moscati, takes its name “Palazzo dello Spagnolo” because it became the property of the Spanish nobleman Tommaso Atienza in the 19th century. Its historical importance and unique architectural details  have made it one of the most important tourist attractions in the center of Naples.

From the entrance hall of the building you can admire the play of symmetries built according to the architectural elements of its time. A monumental double flight staircase surprises for its ability to mix the precision of the structures with the artistic details that characterize them. The particular beauty of the building has led it to be chosen as the set for numerous films, including John Turturro’s “Passion”.
